Two days in a row! Wednesday, Jan 3 2007

Ok, so I shouldn’t be that excited, but I’m now posting for my second day in a row…

It’s going to be a rough morning… hard to keep my eyes open, and yet the To Do list on my desk is many items long… over 10, many of which need to be completed by Friday.  Does that mean I should stop blogging?  Uh, no. I can manage to do this, and those, and get all necessary things done.

An update to yesterday’s excitement… My wife took a pregnancy test again this morning just to verify Sunday’s findings, and it immediately changed to positive… none of this waiting for two minutes stuff.  The reason for the second test?  It’s still hard to believe that she is pregnant. She sees the doctor next Monday, who I’m sure will confirm it yet again.

So that’s it.  Off to my list o’ things to do.

Plotinus, here I come! Tuesday, Jan 10 2006

Greetings All -

I’m not Phillip Swallow, but I am bound for Plotinus.  I’m a Ph.D. candidate in Higher Education Administration at Really Big Institution (RBI) in Semi-Rural Nowhere.  I’m about half-way through my coursework, though a lot still remains to be done.  Presently, I work full time for the same RBI as an administrator in student success programs.

I’ve tried to keep a blog before, but was never terribly successful at managing to write often and profoundly (the two are required, right?), so we’ll try again.

While there may be brief moments of lucidity and profundity, this will likely chronicle my administrative and academic career as I aspire towards leaving the chains of administrivia behind in search of a faculty position in about 2 1/2 years… as well as what other random schtuff I can find to babble about.  My fiancee is also in search of a faculty position in her field, so that search and struggle will likely be carried through to here as well.

With that, happy day.  See you around the blogosphere.
